In 2006, Chelsea picked up a magazine at the gym and saw an advertisement for a local adventure race. She asked her husband if he was interested, and there it began. She was hooked. They already biked, ran, and paddled. But the combination of the three (occasionally more) into one, was pure bliss.
They continued racing and Chelsea grew her skills and experience. In 2011, Chelsea and her husband began producing local adventure races in Colorado. Through their company Journey Racing, Chelsea enjoys being able to provide other racers with the same welcoming race experience that she's come to know and love.
Her desire now is to become an elite-level adventure racer and race multi day races with teams competing for wins. The problem: Entry and travel for these races is very costly. She hopes to earn and promote sponsors that can help her achieve these goals. She's also hoping her creation of The Adventure Gear Review can help her find ways to make this habit of AR productive for Chelsea, manufacturers, and other racers like herself.
For Chelsea's "real job" she is a full-time prosthetist/orthotist. She loves to find ways to combine the passions of O&P and AR. Chelsea has a wonderfully supportive, handsome husband and two great running-partner dogs at their home in Colorado.
